We simplify the decision-making process, focus only on the essentials and guide you every step of the way.

There’s no shortage of questions around the mechanics or logistics of having a pop up wedding, which is something we love to see (and answer) - people are curious, it’s a step outside of norm and we understand there’s going to be curiosities about it all. So whether we take the reigns for you, planning your perfect east coast pop up wedding, or meet with you in a consult and send you a wealth of curated information to make your planning experience a breeze.

We’ll do our best to keep this FAQ post updated with the most common questions, so the more questions, the better! Your curiosity and questions have been instrumental in shaping our journey and offerings; we appreciate the ongoing dialogue and excitement about our services.

Here’s a list of the most common questions we answer:

How many people can come to our pop up?

People want to know how many people can be there with them so we hear this a lot. Answer is: It depends on the package. Our Weekday Packages list the guest count* (some as many as 30), but if you’re curating something a bit more unique the guest count is going to depend on the venue or space you choose.

* Your JP and Photographer do not count in these numbers, they’re bonus buddies.

Aside from venue numbers, when we’re planning elopements out in the wild we try to keep numbers low, max 20 people. We love a small wedding so we gear our packages to focus on those and we’re damn good at it!

Keep your eyes on our Pop Up Events page because we do host some events that have higher guest counts, premium venues and other requested perks!

For custom pop up elopements we work with you to create a personalized package.

Can you help me choose a location?

Absolutely. We rock at this. Lots of couples know where they might want to get married or have a vision of “sandy beach” or “cabin in the woods”. Lots don’t. We’ve developed a good list over the last few years, do site visits to new, premier and hidden-gem venues throughout the Atlantic provinces all the time so our list of partnered venues only grows. We continually think outside the box to expand that list in unique ways so we are certain we can help you find the perfect spot.

Do you plan non-pop up or larger weddings?

No. But if you’re unsure where and how to start we can get that motor running and send you on your way. Feel free to book a consult to get our insider ideas and access to one of our pop-up planners who can guide you on your way and then you take the reins.

Keep your eyes on our Pop Up Events page because we do host some events that have higher guest counts!

Do I have a say in my florals and cake?

Definitely. We work with some amazing florists and bakers. If you know exactly what you want, you can get it. If you know what you don’t want, we can promise that too. We’ll show you great options, the pros and cons of those options and handle the logistics of it all.

Do you only work with certain photographers?

Yes and no. We’re don’t tend not to take major risks with people’s special day so we often suggest and book from a roster of photographers we’ve developed relationships with and trust. All the photographers we hire understand the nature of pop-up weddings, they’re very relaxed and truly enjoy photographing small weddings and working with clients who’re eloping stress-free. We’ve received excellent feedback on all the photographers we’ve trusted and that speaks volumes in terms of bringing them back again and again. That being said, we sometimes have couples looking to work with someone in particular to photograph their day and we’d be happy to discuss it with our couples and their favourite photographer.

Are there options to buy more photography time, extra florals, etc
Yes. Always. Just ask us.

How far in advance should I book?

Any time is a good time to book! We usually start booking a year ahead of time with December holidays through to the end of February being the busiest time for bookings. We booked 30 dates within the first two weeks of January last year, so if you’ve got a date in mind, hit us up as soon as you know it. That being said we don’t typically book Saturdays - here’s why. Wedding Vendors aren’t always available. It means you don’t get your first choice of photographers or other vendors. For this reason we try to steer people towards weekday and Sunday elopements.

How do I tell my family I want to elope?
Gently. But unapologetically. It’s your day, you choose. There’s lots of way to involve family in the elopement process, specifically the celebration process of an elopement. We find most families are understanding if you sit down and have a face to face and if they’re not, you live with it! We answer more about this conundrum here in "our guide to eloping" with additional information on how to elope.
