We caught up with Kate, the owner, to give us the scoop on one of Nova Scotia’s sweetest wedding venues.

Tell us a bit about your spot and how it became a venue.
The Greenhouse is pure bliss - a place where we can nurture our seedlings, grow flowers and veggies, have picnics or tea parties with loved ones, and - of course - throw your hands up and run with the butterflies. Simply put; The Greenhouse was built with love, to connect with nature and with one another.
The Greenhouse was meant to be shared with others; with photographers, with families, or anyone who seeks connection, solace and joy.
We are located in the rural community of Somerset, in the Annapolis Valley, NS. The Greenhouse is an Indigenous constructed building, brought to life by Monarch Homes Ltd. We are women owned and operated. We (Cynthia and Kate) are sisters who run the venue, alongside our mother, Wanda. We would love nothing more than to share our magic space with you!
What makes your spot unique as a venue?
It can be incredibly difficult to find a venue that is far from your typical; such as a greenhouse. The Greenhouse is just far enough removed from the hustle and bustle - a place where all you can hear are the birds chirping and the bees buzzing. We offer just that! It is the perfect size for intimate celebrations.
We do everything with artistic visual interest in mind; from the way we plant our flowers, down to each individual element used to construct and adorn The Greenhouse. We forage materials from our land, and constantly adjust decorations based on the season. It truly is a nature lover's dream.

The Greenhouse can comfortably seat 18-24 guests inside, depending on how you arrange your chairs. Our max capacity on the property is 50 individuals, should you choose to be wed in front of The Greenhouse, rather than inside. We offer a gorgeous antique table and an eclectic mix of 12 wooden chairs for use, if desired. A planner is not required to book our venue. The Greenhouse is a dry venue that is currently off grid; however, we do have a cute little bathroom with a toilet, sink + mirror that is discreetly tucked into the trees, steps away from the venue. The Greenhouse is best suited for ceremonies and intimate moments with loved ones thereafter (cake cutting, picnics, photography, etc). We’re happy to chat about your dream visions and how we can help bring them to life!
