The Number Game
Pick a date that actually means something to you! Anniversary of your first date, when you moved in together, your first kiss or just a fun and easy date to remember … look at the numbers! Does something speak to you or feel special, book it! You might not get married on a Saturday but your anniversary will fall on a Saturday approximately once every seven years. It’s just math.
Vendors
Feeling like all your preferred vendors are booked? Keep being told “we’re not available"“ … trying asking about a Thursday, and suddenly vendors are available. Flowers look just as gorgeous on Mondays, lobster tastes twice as good on Wednesdays, and everyone knows wedding speeches are four times as tolerable on Tuesdays. Remove yourself from the race and book the day that works for you — you’ll likely find that there are better deals and far more options available.
Timing that Cocktail Hour
Make the timeline of a weekday wedding your own. If your guests are game and your crew is small, arrange for everyone to take the day off and play hooky… and get married while you’re at it: you two just created your own personal holiday. If you know that’s going to be a tricky sell, consider a romantic evening option for everyone to gather after work. Sunset wedding at the beach? Yes, please. Cocktail reception at your favourite pub? What time is happy hour anyhow?
The Guest List
Sometimes elopements sneak up on you, it can be a little more “last minute” or impulsive than a big shindig, so a weekday wedding means folks who’re coming don’t have to cancel the cottage plans, or other weekend plans to attend your celebrations. Yeah, they might have to knock off from work but who’s complaining about that right? Flights are often cheaper on weekdays, so family can take advantage of that or better yet - you can book the flights and be socks off and in the sand before the weekend bells enjoying your honeymoon!
